General Info

Tucked inside the lively Berseh Food Centre, Coffee Hut is one of those small spots that quickly becomes a regular stop once you discover it. Located at 166 Jln Besar, #02-43 Berseh Food Centre, Singapore 208877, this humble coffee store sits comfortably among the busy food stalls, offering a simple but satisfying experience for anyone looking for a relaxed place to grab a drink and unwind.

The first thing that stands out about Coffee Hut is its easygoing atmosphere. Because it’s set within a traditional food centre, the vibe feels authentic and unpretentious. You’ll notice locals dropping by for a quick cup while chatting with friends or taking a short break from the bustle of the neighborhood. The setting makes it feel less like a formal restaurant and more like a familiar community coffee spot where people naturally gather.

When browsing the menu, the focus is straightforward: good coffee and quick bites that pair well with it. Instead of an overwhelming list of options, the offerings feel thoughtfully curated, making it easy to decide what to order. During my visit, I appreciated how efficiently everything moved-orders were taken quickly, and drinks arrived without a long wait. It’s the kind of place where you can stop by for a casual coffee, yet still feel like you’re getting attentive service.

One of the most convenient things about Coffee Hut is its flexible service style. If you want to sit down and enjoy the lively surroundings of the food centre, the onsite services make it easy to settle in and relax. On the other hand, if you’re in a hurry, takeout is just as smooth and practical. Many visitors simply grab their coffee and continue exploring the nearby streets around Jalan Besar.

Accessibility also makes this location appealing. Paid street parking is available nearby, which helps if you’re driving through the area. That convenience makes Coffee Hut a practical stop whether you’re meeting a friend, taking a short break during a busy day, or exploring food spots around Singapore.

From what I observed, the stall maintains a steady flow of customers, which usually says a lot about a place. The steady crowd, friendly interactions, and consistent pace of orders give the impression that Coffee Hut has built a loyal following among regular visitors. Reading through reviews from others later on confirmed that many people return because of the reliable drinks and the comfortable setting.

Overall, Coffee Hut fits perfectly into the character of Berseh Food Centre. It’s a simple coffee store, yet it delivers exactly what people expect from a good neighborhood spot: quick service, approachable menu choices, and a location that’s easy to visit again and again. For anyone exploring coffee spots around Jalan Besar, this stall feels like a natural stop on the local food map.

What customers say?

“ This is one of my favourite kopi place. The soft-boiled eggs here are amazing - big, creamy and cooked perfectly. My other favourite here is the toasted half baguette with generous amount of kaya and butter. It is so delicious and it is enough for 2 people. And the coffee here is among the best I have had. ”

“ Local coffee on point . I recently grabbed a coffee from this stall, and it was a standout experience. The stall owner is clearly passionate and skilled, treating coffee-making like an art form. The brew was on point—perfectly balanced with no overpowering notes, just a smooth, harmonious sip. Every cup bursts with flavor, showcasing the owner’s dedication to quality. Whether you’re a casual drinker or a coffee nerd, this spot delivers consistently. Highly recommend for a flavorful, expertly crafted coffee that hits all the right spots. ”

“ Only had the kopi o koseng, decent kopi with no sour aftertaste but lack the mouthful feel of a darker and more caramelized beans. This is maybe a much healthier choice than the old school style. Will be back for more. $1.50 ”

“ Friendly owners. Served good coffee and nicely toasted breads. Crispy breads with not too sweet Kaya and butter. Prices might be a little higher comparing with some other coffee stalls. But the taste and quality of the foods and drinks were good. You will be given a receiver to alert you to pick up the order when ready hence no need to stand and wait for the foods till its ready. No heavy crowd at the stall. Well organised. ”

“ The Kaya is not overly sweet and the Kaya bun with butter is the bomb! The French toast is amazing , taste good on its own , remind of how grandma makes it . Then coffee is aromatic and quite a pleasant cup. ”

- Whiskey Tea -

“ Nice coffee. You have a choice of small cup, served in a traditional Kopi tiam cup and saucer or the usual big cup. The coffee is good and thick, but pricey. It costs $1.50 for the small cup and a large one is $2.20. Overpriced for a hawker center cuppa. ”

- Winston Ho -

“ Rather good coffee and soft-boil eggs were made very well; thought the bread were a bit cold. ”

“ I’ll always give 5 stars to F&Bs that prepare from their hearts and with care. Of course the outcome needs to be good too and for Coffee Hut, the outcome is great! This is one joint that produces Singapore traditional bread and coffee breakfast at its best! They do take a while to prepare though even when queues are long, they will still take time, so be prepared to wait during peak breakfast period. Definitely recommended place for breakfast! ”
